Google+ bekommt derzeit ein richtig dickes Update spendiert. Dem sozialen Netzwerk werden damit auch gleich neun neue Features spendiert, das interessanteste unter ihnen dürfte mit Sicherheit Auto Awesome Stories sein. Damit ist es dann möglich, Fotos und Filme mit Orten zu verknüpfen und somit eine Art Reisebericht davon anzufertigen. Doch auch optisch gibt es eine Menge neues zu sehen, Google+ wurde anscheinend komplett runderneuert.

Android 4.4.1 kommt in den nächsten Tagen

Schon in den nächsten Tagen soll es soweit sein und eine neue Android Version verfügbar sein. Dabei handelt es sich um Android 4.4.1. Das will jedenfalls der Insider Footballer erfahren haben. Angeblich soll das HTC One Google Play Edition das erste Modell sein, welches das Android 4.4.1 Update erhält. Schwer zu glauben, da als erstes mit Sicherheit die Nexus Devices, auf jeden Fall aber das Nexus 5, damit bestückt werden. Und erst dann kann ich mir vorstellen, dass das HTC One Google Play Edition Android 4.4.1 Update kommen wird.

Knapp einen Monat nach dem Android 4.4 Release soll nun in den nächsten Tagen bereits eine neue Android Version erscheinen. Bei Android 4.4.1 handelt es sich wahrscheinlich um eine Bugfix-Sammlung. Noch ist aber schwer zu sagen, welche Bugs damit gefixt werden sollen. Denn größere Fehler sind bislang nicht aufgetreten. Vielleicht schraubt Google ja bei Android 4.4.1 noch einmal an der Performance-Schraube?

Sony preps Bluetooth lens attachments for iPhones, Android phones

A set of images leaked on Monday claim to show off a new device from Sony aimed at turning smartphones like the iPhone into something approaching a full-fledged camera.

The photos supposedly reveal Sony's "lens-camera" device, which the company is preparing to release in the near future, according to Sony Alpha Rumors. The devices will essentially pack the power of a high-end point-and-shoot camera into a lens that attaches to a smartphone and pairs with an Android or iOS app over Bluetooth.

Of the two variations planned, one will feature the same sensor-lens pairing from the Sony RX100, one of Sony's more celebrated point-and-shoot cameras of late. That will mean a 1-inch, 20.2-megapixel Exmor R sensor with a 2/1.8 Carl Zeiss lens. The other device is said to have an 18-megapixel CMOS sensor with a 10x zoom lens, similar to the $400 Sony WX150.

BlackBerry rolling out BBM for iOS and Android beta invites | 9to5Mac

A report from BlackBerryOS.com notes that invites to BlackBerry’s upcoming BBM service for iOS and Android have now started rolling out to users on the company’s Beta Zone website. Back in May, BlackBerry announced that its popular messaging platform would finally become cross-platform and arrive on both iOS and Android devices “later this summer,” and that deadline to launch is of course quickly approaching.
Not all Beta Zone members have received the invite email above, but it looks like BlackBerry is getting closer to finally launching the new apps.
We haven’t seen much of the iOS app, but BlackBerryOS also got its hands on the screenshots below of the latest Android beta:
